At the Princeton Perinatal Institute, our team will be there for you and your loved ones working in close communication with your obstetricians, midwives, and other providers to makes this journey as safe and as special as possible.

 

Myriam Mondestin-Sorrentino, MD, FACOG

Founder and Medical Director

Dr. Mondestin is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the subspecialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine also known as High Risk Obstetrics.  

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude from Rider University, Dr. Mondestin attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. She then completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Lukes Roosevelt which was part of Columbia University at the time in New York, New York.  She subsequently completed another three years of fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at UMDNJ/ Rutgers in New Brunswick.  She attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a Certificate of Professional Development in Leadership.

After nearly 20 years of working as an employed physician in her field of expertise for large academic institutions, Dr. Mondestin is happy and fortunate to announce the opening of the Princeton Perinatal Institute.

She is grateful to all who have contributed to her education, her family and friends that have supported her throughout her journey.  Above all, she is thankful to her patients who have and continued to inspire her to be the best physician and maternal fetal medicine specialist that she can be.

In addition to English, Dr. Mondestin also fluently speaks French, Spanish and Creole. With her strong clinical experience and her cultural background, she offers the skills and expertise you expect from your consultant while providing a personalized touch and empathy to a broad range of patient’s demographic that is rare to find.

Tressie Dalaya, MS

Genetic Counselor

Tressie has been certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and has nearly 30 years of experience. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Human Genetic Association of New Jersey. We are thrilled she has joined the Princeton Perinatal Institute to help better meet the need of our patients.

 

Lisa LaGrego

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Lisa is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer and has been working in various imaging facilities since 1991. After studying engineering science at the College of Staten Island, Lisa went on to study ultrasound imaging at Ultrasound Diagnostic School and finished her coursework at New York University. She started her career at Bayonne Hospital and continued at the office of Dr. Clement Barone, an outpatient imaging facility on the Upper East Side in NYC. After getting married and relocating to New Jersey, she began working at Advanced Medical Imaging, Princeton Radiology Group, and the Princeton Perinatal Institute . Her vast experience includes scanning at inpatient and outpatient facilities in general, routine, high level, emergency, and pre-op and post-op situations. She has nearly 30 years of experience scanning in abdominal, small parts, OB/Gyn, Level II Fetal scans, Fetal Echo, Biopsy, and other interventional procedures as well as MSK scans. Presently, Lisa continues to skillfully perform various types of ultrasounds including General, Small Parts, Vascular, MSK, Gynecological and Obstetrical. Lisa holds RDMS Credentials since 1994 in Abdomen, General, OB/Gyn, Breast and is a certified RVT.

 
 

Sharon Schechter

Medical Assistant

Sharon is originally from Brazil where she practiced as an MD and a nutritionist. In 2014, she earned her certified as a Medical Assistant by NCCT and started her healthcare career here in the US. In 2016, she began working as a medical assistant and medical scribe at St. Francis Hospital and Princeton Infectious Diseases. She is passionate about patient care. Dr. Mondestin's patients for her are special, because she knows that they are in a very special time of their lives and every piece of information and detail is crucial for the best care of the patients and their babies.

 

Jennifer May-Fertitta

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Jennifer graduated from the Medical Technology Institute in New Jersey in 2007. Shortly after, she worked as an ultrasound tech in radiology at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. In 2008, she became a full-time tech with the MFM unit and has been a perinatal sonographer since. She is currently certified with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in OB/Gyn and Cervical Length Certified with The Fetal Medicine Foundation. She is Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Certified with Nuchal Translucency Quality Review. She is in addition BLS certified.
